Holden Commodore
The car the marque was built around, and the reason Holden gets pages at all: from 1997 this is a rear-drive saloon engineered in Australia, sold nowhere else under this badge, and exported instead as the Pontiac G8, the Chevrolet SS and the Vauxhall VXR8. The VT to VZ cars are widened, re-engineered developments of the Opel Omega B, so Omega information reaches some of the body and suspension; the VE of 2006 is a clean-sheet Australian design on GM's Zeta platform and shares almost nothing with any Opel. Engines are the Buick-derived 3.8 V6 and, later, GM's High Feature V6 and the LS-family V8s — so LS information from a Corvette or Silverado applies directly to the V8s. The recurring faults are the 3.8's plastic intake manifold and its coolant elbows, and on the LS cars the usual lifter and cam-sensor items.
