Wat te doen
Expect a fixed gear and probably several warning lights at once. If a long list of faults across different systems has been read from the car, ask whether a communication problem could explain all of them before agreeing to replace anything — that breadth usually indicates one fault, not many.
Wat deze code betekent
Communication with the transmission control module has failed. A modern transmission is not an independent machine — it depends on a continuous conversation with the engine module for load, torque and speed, and with the stability system for whether it should be shifting at all.
The pattern worth recognising is what a communication fault does to the rest of the diagnostic picture. When modules stop talking, each one raises faults about the inputs it can no longer see, so a single bus problem produces a long list of codes spread across systems that are all perfectly healthy. A scan report showing transmission, engine, stability and instrument faults together is far more likely to be one broken wire than four broken modules — and reading it the other way round is how a diagnosis becomes a parts-replacement exercise.
This is the network version of an argument the corpus makes twice elsewhere: under P0562, where low system voltage generates faults everywhere, and under P0641, where one reference supply feeds several sensors. One shared thing failing looks exactly like many separate things failing.
