P2541: Sensor van het lagedrukbrandstofsysteem — circuit laag
Wat te doen
If the car will not start, take the reading at face value first — no fuel pressure is a real condition and the pump or its supply is the place to look. If the engine runs perfectly and the sensor reads nothing, the reading contradicts itself and the wiring is more likely. Ask for a gauge on the fuel supply, which settles which of the two it is in minutes.
Wat deze code betekent
The low-pressure fuel sensor circuit reads below its valid range — a short to ground, or a reported pressure below anything the system could produce with the pump running.
That second case matters and should not be dismissed as a wiring fault: a pump that has stopped entirely, or a supply that has lost prime, reads at the bottom of the scale legitimately. So a reading of no pressure on a car that will not start is quite possibly true, and the fault is the pump or its supply rather than the sensor watching it.
Where the engine runs normally and the sensor reads nothing, the circuit is the likelier explanation — an engine cannot run on no fuel pressure, so the reading contradicts itself.
