Wat te doen
The car drives normally in D — what may not work is manual or paddle shifting. This is a convenience feature rather than a safety one, so it is not urgent. If the horn or the steering wheel buttons have also stopped working, mention that: it points at one part behind the steering wheel rather than three separate faults.
Wat deze code betekent
The upshift switch circuit is reading high.
This is the paddle or lever the driver uses to change gear manually, and it is the least serious circuit in this range.
Manual mode on an automatic is a request, not a command. The module will still refuse an upshift that would stall the engine or a downshift that would over-rev it, so the switch influences the transmission rather than controlling it — which is why a fault here degrades a feature rather than the gearbox.
Expect manual mode to be unavailable or erratic. The car will drive normally in D.
It is a switch in the cabin, so it fails like one: a worn contact behind a paddle, a connector disturbed during steering wheel or console work, or — on a steering wheel paddle — the clock spring, the coiled ribbon that carries every circuit into a wheel that turns. Paddles, horn and steering wheel controls failing together points there rather than at the switch.
