Daihatsu Charade
Daihatsu's small hatchback and saloon, and this page is the G200 of 1993-2000 — the last Charade that was a Charade, and the only one carrying engine management a scan tool can hold a conversation with. The 1.0 three-cylinder is what makes the car distinctive and what most often brings it in: three cylinders idle in a way that sounds wrong to anyone used to a four, so a rough-running complaint here is worth comparing against a known-good example before it is treated as a fault. Earlier Charades are a different diagnostic job rather than an earlier version of this one, being carburettor and early single-point injection cars with none of the self-diagnosis this site assumes. Two later cars wear the badge and neither of them is this one, which matters because searching the name reaches all three: the 2003-2007 Charade is a rebadged Mira and the 2011-2013 European Charade is a rebadged Toyota Yaris, so what is written about those cars is written under those names.
