Vehicle
Geely Coolray
The compact SUV on the BMA platform, sold as the Binyue in China, the Proton X50 in Malaysia and the BelGee X50 in Belarus and Russia. Establishing which 1.5 is in front of you comes before any driveability diagnosis, because three different engines wear that badge: a port-injected three-cylinder, a direct-injected three-cylinder, and — from the 2022 facelift — a four-cylinder that is a different design rather than a revision. Only the direct-injected cars accumulate intake-valve carbon, so a rough idle at 60,000 km means something quite different on each. The gearbox is where most of its stored codes concentrate, and it is a wet-clutch dual-clutch unit rather than the dry type — different symptoms, different diagnosis.

SX11 facelift (Binyue Cool) 2022–present
The engine changes architecture rather than being revised — a four-cylinder replaces the three, so cylinder-specific misfire codes no longer map to the same physical layout. A plug-in hybrid joins the range.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
