Hyundai Nexo
A hydrogen fuel-cell SUV, and the only vehicle on this catalogue whose fuel system runs at 700 bar. Nothing about it is diagnosed like a petrol car: there is no engine, no exhaust aftertreatment and no fuel-trim story, and the faults that dominate are stack humidity and temperature management, hydrogen leak detection, and the air compressor that feeds the stack. It carries a small traction battery as a buffer, so it also has every high-voltage isolation hazard an electric car has, on top of a stored-gas hazard no other vehicle here presents. The 2025 NH2 roughly doubles the motor output and adds a 2.64 kWh buffer battery.

Three 52.2-litre hydrogen tanks. Replaced the ix35 Fuel Cell and was sold to the public, unlike the fleet-only fuel-cell vehicles of the previous decade.

Second generation. Three 54.2-litre tanks and a 2.64 kWh buffer battery, so the high-voltage architecture is closer to a conventional EV's than the first car's was.
