Hyundai Veloster
The three-door coupé with the asymmetric door arrangement, on the platform it shares with the Elantra and i30, which is where its running-gear information lives. Two engine families matter and they behave differently. The naturally aspirated 1.6 GDI is a direct-injection engine with no port injectors, so carbon builds on the intake valves and produces misfire and lean codes on an engine in otherwise good order — the fault that catches out anyone treating it as a port-injected car. The 1.6 T-GDI turbo adds the recirculation valve and a water-cooled bearing housing whose coolant lines are worth inspecting before a boost fault is chased electrically. The Veloster N's electronic limited-slip differential and variable exhaust each have their own actuators and codes.
