Vehicle
Tata Bolt
The hatchback half of the Zest pair, and the last car to carry the Indica Vista's floorpan before the Tiago replaced both. Mechanically it is the Zest: same X1 platform, same 1.2 Revotron turbo petrol, same Fiat-built 1.3 Quadrajet diesel, and the same recurring items.
Its diagnostic value is as a bridge. It sits between the Indica generation — where a diesel is mechanical and sets almost nothing — and the Tiago generation, where everything is networked. A Bolt reads normally on both engines, which is worth establishing early on any Tata of this era because the neighbouring models do not.
As on every car of its price and age here, a weak twelve-volt battery produces faults across unrelated modules and is worth eliminating before anything is read into a list of codes.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
