Cause
Faulty fuel level sensor
The float and track reporting how much fuel is left. Beyond the gauge, it feeds the evaporative system, which cannot run a leak test outside a particular fill range — so a stuck sender produces evaporative codes and monitors that never complete, on a car whose gauge nobody has questioned.
