P0462: Fuel Level Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What to do
Driveable, but the gauge cannot be trusted. Track mileage between fill-ups rather than relying on it.
What this code means
The fuel level signal has fallen below its plausible range, usually reading as a permanently empty tank. A short to ground in the sender wiring produces this, as does a float that has filled with fuel and sunk.
Whether the gauge reads empty or full for a given fault depends on how the sender is wired, so the reading direction alone does not identify the fault — measuring at the connector does.
