What to do
Driveable, with a fuel gauge that may be wrong. Worth fixing before an emissions test — several self-tests will not run without a valid fuel level, and the vehicle then fails for incomplete monitors rather than for anything measurable.
What this code means
A fault in the fuel level value the module outputs to other systems. Distinct from P0460, which concerns the sender's own signal — this is the module passing that value on to the instrument cluster or over the network.
Because several emissions monitors require a trusted fuel level before they will run, a fault here can leave readiness monitors incomplete and cause an inspection failure that appears entirely unrelated to fuel.
