P0463: Fuel Level Sensor A Circuit High Input
What to do
Driveable, but the gauge cannot be trusted — a permanently full reading is the version of this fault most likely to leave you stranded.
What this code means
The fuel level signal is above its plausible range — the mirror of the low-input fault. An open circuit in the sender or its wiring is the usual cause, and on most systems that reads as a permanently full tank.
Because the sender lives inside the tank, access is poor and the connector on top of the tank is a frequent culprit. Testing there before dropping the tank saves a great deal of work.
