P0125: Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Closed Loop Fuel Control
What to do
Watch whether the temperature gauge reaches its normal position and whether the heater blows properly hot. If neither does, the thermostat is the likely cause.
What this code means
The engine has not reached the temperature at which the module is willing to start trusting the oxygen sensors, within the time it expected. Until closed-loop fuelling begins the engine runs on a fixed warm-up map, which is deliberately rich — so this code costs fuel and emissions rather than driveability. The two usual explanations are a thermostat stuck open, so the engine genuinely never warms, or a coolant sensor under-reporting a temperature that is actually fine.
