P0582: Cruise Control Vacuum Control Circuit Open
What to do
Driveable; cruise control will not engage at all.
What this code means
An open circuit on the solenoid that admits vacuum to the cruise control servo. On vacuum-operated systems the module holds a set speed by metering vacuum into the servo through this valve and releasing it through a separate vent valve, so an open here means the servo can never be pulled and cruise control simply does nothing.
These systems belong to older vehicles; drive-by-wire cruise control has no servo, no vacuum and none of these codes.
