P0797: Pressure Control Solenoid C Stuck On
What to do
Expect a jolt on particular changes, worst when driving gently. Not generally harmful to the gearbox, but worth diagnosing rather than tolerating.
What this code means
Pressure control solenoid C is holding pressure high instead of modulating it, so the shifts it governs land hard. The transmission is not usually being damaged by this — high pressure applies a clutch more firmly rather than letting it slip — but the shock passes into the driveline and the change is unpleasant enough to justify repair on its own.
