P0796: Pressure Control Solenoid C Performance or Stuck Off
What to do
If a specific change slips — revs rising before the gear takes hold — have it seen to rather than driven around. A single slipping clutch is still a clutch being destroyed, just more slowly than all of them would be.
What this code means
Pressure control solenoid C is not delivering the commanded pressure, so the clutch it meters slips as it takes up. The affected shifts are a narrow set, but a slipping clutch wears whether the fault is narrow or general — the friction material glazes and the damage accumulates with each occurrence.
