P0936: Hydraulic Pressure Sensor Circuit Intermittent
What to do
Listen for the gearbox pump running at unusual times or in short bursts. That is a symptom only you will notice, and it points at this circuit rather than at the pump itself.
What this code means
The actuation pressure signal drops out or jumps briefly. Because the module uses it to decide when to run the pump, an intermittent reading makes the pump cycle erratically — running when it need not, or failing to run when it should.
The audible consequence is a useful clue: a gearbox pump that has started running at odd moments, or in bursts with no relation to what the car is doing, is worth reporting.
