Note the conditions when the light appears; an intermittent temperature signal is a wiring fault talking, and the pattern narrows the search.
What this code means
The drive motor temperature signal is cutting in and out — jumps and dropouts no real thermal mass could produce.
Temperature is the slowest-moving signal on the vehicle, which makes intermittency easy to catch: a winding cannot gain forty degrees in a second. The fault is in the harness or a connector, almost without exception, and the transaxle-to-inverter run is where to look.
