What to do

The car will drive normally. Charging may be slow, or the predicted charge time may be consistently wrong. Worth mentioning both when you book it in — the wrong estimate is a symptom, not a quirk.

What this code means

The circuit for the sensor measuring the alternating-current supply voltage at the charger is faulty.

This sensor is how the car knows what kind of supply it is plugged into. A charger designed for both 120 and 240 volt regions has to work out which one it is looking at before it can decide anything else — how much current to draw, how long the charge will take, whether the estimate it shows the driver is worth anything.

So a fault here produces confidently wrong information rather than an obvious failure. A charger that misreads a 240-volt supply as 120 charges at half the rate it could and tells the driver a completion time built on the same mistake. Nothing appears broken; the car is just slow, and the estimate is always wrong in the same direction.

It is also the sensor behind P0D27 and P0D28, so a supply-voltage complaint should always be checked against this circuit before the supply is blamed.
