P0D27: Battery Charger Input Voltage Too Low
What to do
Charging will be slow or will stop. Try a different socket, ideally on a different circuit, and stop using extension leads — a lead too thin for the current is the single commonest cause of this code. If it happens at every charge point including public ones, the car needs looking at.
What this code means
The alternating-current supply arriving at the on-board charger is below its lower limit.
This is the most useful code in the family, because it is usually the car being right about something outside itself. Everything else here measures what the charger is doing. This measures what the wall is giving it — and the wall is frequently the problem.
A supply sags under load, and how much it sags is a property of the wiring rather than the socket. A domestic circuit feeding a car at 10 amps for eight hours is being asked to do something no other household appliance does. Thin cable, a long run to the consumer unit, a shared circuit with something else drawing current, a worn socket, or — most often of all — a long extension lead of a gauge chosen for a lawnmower. Any of these drops the voltage the car sees.
So the diagnostic question is not "what is wrong with the car" but "does it happen everywhere". A car that charges happily at a public charge point and stores this code at one particular socket at home has already told you the answer. A car that stores it everywhere has a problem on its own input side — the inlet pins, or the sensor at P0D3D reading low.
