P2048: Reductant Injection Valve Circuit Low Bank 1 Unit 1
What to do
The inducement sequence described under P2047 applies, so this has a deadline. Worth repairing promptly for a second reason too: these injectors are cooled by the fluid flowing through them, so one that has stopped dosing is slowly cooking itself in the exhaust heat.
What this code means
The first reductant injector's circuit reads below its valid range, normally a short to ground. The module shuts its output driver down rather than continue feeding a short, so dosing stops entirely on that injector.
There is a second consequence worth knowing about, because it is specific to this component. The injector is cooled by the fluid passing through it — it sits in or near the exhaust stream, and the flow is what keeps it from cooking. An injector that has stopped dosing is also an injector that has stopped cooling itself, which is why a circuit fault left unrepaired can turn into a heat-damaged injector as well.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
