P2125: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch E Circuit
Do not keep driving
Expect reduced power or no throttle response. As with the other pedal sensor, the connector in the footwell is worth inspecting before the pedal assembly is quoted.
What this code means
A circuit fault in position sensor E — on most vehicles the second of the accelerator pedal's sensors, and the one that makes sensor D checkable.
The two are deliberately given different characteristics, as set out under P2104: different slopes, or one rising while the other falls, so that no single fault can move both in a way that still looks consistent. That is why a pedal has two sensors rather than one, and why the correlation codes at P2138 exist.
Everything under P2120 about the footwell environment and the sensors being integral to the pedal applies here unchanged.
