P2140: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch E/F Voltage Correlation
Do not keep driving
Ask which correlation pairs are faulted. If only E/F is failing while the pairs involving D are fine, that is a real narrowing rather than another symptom. Mention any wet footwell history either way.
What this code means
Position sensors E and F disagree — the last of the correlation family, and on most vehicles the second and third of the accelerator pedal's sensors.
The full argument is under P2135: both sensors share a reference and a ground, so a supply fault moves them by different amounts and fails the correlation without either being faulty. The pedal-specific case is under P2138: they also share a connector in a footwell that regularly gets wet.
What completes the picture here is the three-way narrowing. On a pedal carrying D, E and F, this code failing while D/E and D/F both pass is the one combination that clears sensor D and the shared supply together — which leaves the disagreement genuinely between E and F, and is the most specific result this family can produce.
