P2149: Fuel Injector Group B Supply Voltage Circuit/Open

Do not keep driving

Expect a severe misfire, or no running at all if both groups are affected. If codes for two groups are stored together, ask for the module's power and ground to be checked first — two supplies failing at once usually means the thing that feeds both.

What this code means

A fault in the supply feeding the second group of injectors. The grouping argument is under P2146 and applies unchanged.

What two groups faulting together adds is a strong pointer. Groups A and B are separate supplies precisely so that one failing leaves the engine running on the other — the arrangement exists to degrade rather than stop. So both failing at once is unlikely to be two coincidental supply faults, and points instead at what they share: the module that generates both rails, its power feed, or its ground. The corpus makes that case at length under P0882, and an engine that will not run at all with both group codes stored is the clearest version of it.

Information, not instruction

CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.

Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.

What makes one worth reading:

  • The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
  • What you measured, not only what you replaced.
  • What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
