P2569: Direct Ozone Reduction Catalyst Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What to do
There is nothing to feel and nothing to worry about mechanically. It matters only for emissions testing. Ask for the wiring at the front of the vehicle to be inspected — it runs through the area that takes road salt and grit, and a rubbed-through wire there is more likely than a failed sensor.
What this code means
The ozone catalyst temperature circuit reads below its valid range — normally a short to ground, or a sensor that has failed low.
The sensor's position at the very front of the vehicle is the thing that makes a short to ground more likely here than in most places: the wiring runs through the area that collects road salt, water and grit, and a chafed conductor there has a grounded metal panel within a few millimetres of it in almost every direction.
No driveability consequence. What is lost is the emissions monitor, as at P2567.
