P2570: Direct Ozone Reduction Catalyst Temperature Sensor Circuit High

What to do

Nothing to feel, and nothing mechanically wrong. If the front of the car has been apart for any reason — accident repair, a new radiator, a condenser, even a bumper — mention it, because this sensor's connector is disturbed by all of those and is easily left unplugged. That is a free fix and the first thing to check.

What this code means

The ozone catalyst temperature circuit reads above its valid range — an open circuit, a disconnected connector, or a short to supply.

An open circuit is the usual finding, and front-end accident damage is a cause worth naming explicitly: anything that has required the front bumper, radiator or condenser to come out has had this connector apart, and it is a small plug in a crowded area that is easy to leave unmated. A code appearing after front-end work is that until shown otherwise.

No driveability consequence; the loss is the emissions monitor.

Information, not instruction

CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.

Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.

What makes one worth reading:

  • The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
  • What you measured, not only what you replaced.
  • What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
