P2575: Direct Ozone Reduction Catalyst Deterioration Sensor Circuit High
What to do
Nothing to feel, and nothing mechanically wrong.
If the front of the car has been apart for any reason — an accident repair, a new radiator or condenser, even just a bumper off — say so immediately. This connector is disturbed by all of those and is easily left unplugged in a space nobody can see into. Checking it costs nothing and is by far the commonest answer in that situation.
What this code means
The deterioration sensor circuit reads above its valid range — an open circuit, a disconnected connector, or a short to supply.
An open circuit is the usual finding, and the cause worth naming first is not a failure at all. Anything that has required the front of the vehicle to come apart has had this connector apart — accident repair, a new radiator, a condenser, an intercooler, or a bumper removed for any reason. It is a small plug in a crowded space that cannot be seen without a mirror, and leaving it unmated is easy.
A code from this family appearing shortly after front-end work is a disconnected plug until proven otherwise. That check is free and takes a minute; a sensor is neither.
No driveability consequence; the loss is the emissions monitor.
