U0432: Invalid Data Received From Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor Module A
What to do
Take this one seriously. Expect stability control off, and possibly an airbag warning light too — and that combination is one fault, not two. This module tells the car how it is actually moving, and both stability control and the airbag system use it.
So: the car will not catch a slide for you, and the restraint system may not have complete information about a crash. Drive carefully, take real care in the wet and on ice, and get it seen promptly rather than leaving it.
The most useful question: has any suspension, alignment, ride height or accident repair work been done? This sensor has to learn which way is level and which way is forward, and that reference is lost when it is disturbed. A vehicle needing recalibration after such work is very common, and the fix is a scan tool procedure rather than a new part.
Ask about that specifically before agreeing to a replacement — the difference in cost is substantial.

This is the vehicle's sense of its own motion, and it is worth spelling out what it measures because the breadth explains the fault's reach: acceleration along the vehicle's length and across its width, and rotation about the vertical axis — and on vehicles with roll-sensitive systems, about the longitudinal axis too.
Two families of system depend on it, and they are among the most important on the car. Stability control compares what the driver asked for against what the vehicle is actually doing, and this module supplies the second half. And restraints use longitudinal and lateral acceleration to recognise a crash and decide what to deploy — the corpus makes the same point at U0250.
So an implausible report here disables stability control and can affect the airbag system's decision-making at once. That combination — a stability light and an airbag light together — is the pattern worth recognising as one fault.
The most important practical fact, and it mirrors U0428: this module is calibrated, not absolute. It has to learn which way is level and which way is forward. A sensor that has been disturbed, replaced, or had the vehicle's ride height or alignment changed reports motion in a skewed frame of reference — confidently and consistently wrong.
So the first question is what work has been done, and suspension, alignment, ride height and accident repair all qualify. The remedy is very often a calibration rather than a part, and that is worth establishing before a quote is accepted.
The safety consequence is unambiguous: the car will not intervene if it starts to slide, and the restraints may not be making decisions on complete information. Both are reasons to have it seen promptly rather than at the next service.
