Stability Control Module
Runs traction and stability control, comparing wheel speeds and steering input against what the vehicle is actually doing. It cannot grip the road itself, so it works through others: braking an individual wheel, and asking the engine to make less power, because braking a wheel the engine is still driving hard is a losing battle. It also asks the transmission to hold its gear during an intervention, a shift being the worst possible moment for a torque interruption. That dependence on other modules is why its faults present as engine and transmission complaints — a stuck torque reduction request produces a car that has become gutless with no engine fault anywhere.
