Cylinder Pressure Sensor
A sensor inside the combustion chamber, reading the full pressure trace of every firing stroke — the one instrument that watches combustion directly, where misfire detection, knock sensing and oxygen sensors all infer it from side effects. Engines that carry them run closed-loop combustion control: injection timing and quantity trimmed per cylinder, per cycle, against what actually happened rather than what should have. On diesels the sensor is typically built into the glow plug — a pressure-sensing glow plug — so replacing one is a glow plug job at several times a plain plug's price, which is worth knowing before a quote reads as padded. Their codes also hand the workshop a free diagnostic: with fuel cut on overrun, every cylinder's trace should be identical, so one sensor disagreeing with its siblings has convicted itself.
Also known as: combustion pressure sensor, in-cylinder pressure sensor, pressure sensor glow plug, psg, cylinder pressure transducer, combustion sensor

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
