P2065: Brandstofniveausensor B — circuit
Wat te doen
Treat the fuel gauge as untrustworthy until this is fixed — fill up well before it says you need to, because the failure mode is running dry with fuel showing. The sender lives in the tank, but its wiring and connector on the tank top fail far more often than the float unit itself.
Wat deze code betekent
The second fuel level sender's circuit has failed — and the existence of a second sender is the page's real content.
A saddle tank needs two floats. Vehicles with a propshaft or exhaust under the floor mould the tank in two lobes around the obstruction — the arrangement P2632 describes from the pump's side — and fuel sits in both, so each lobe carries its own sender and the gauge shows the two added together. Lose sender B and the gauge is reading half the tank: on most implementations it drops or freezes by roughly the missing lobe's share, or the module substitutes an estimate and flags this code.
Two consequences are worth more than the electrical detail. The gauge is now systematically wrong, not vaguely unreliable — a driver who knows which lobe is unread can reason about it, and one who does not runs dry on a gauge showing fuel (the P2632 strand, arriving through instrumentation). And the evaporative monitor uses fuel level to decide when its tests are valid, so monitors quietly stop completing — the invisible cost that surfaces at test time.
