P2452: Druksensor A van het roetfilter — circuit
Wat te doen
Do not leave this one: the sensor is the filter's fuel gauge, and a filter run blind ends expensively. The sensing hoses are checked before the sensor — cracked, blocked or swapped hoses are the classic finding, at a fraction of the cost.
Wat deze code betekent
The particulate filter's pressure sensor has failed its circuit checks — and this small sensor deserves respect, because it is how the vehicle knows how full the filter is.
Soot cannot be seen inside a sealed steel can, so the module infers it: two thin hoses tap the exhaust before and after the filter, the sensor reads the pressure difference, and a rising drop at a known flow means a loading filter. Every regeneration is scheduled from this number. Corrupt it and the module either believes the filter is always empty — so it never regenerates, and the filter quietly fills toward the P2463 spiral — or always full, burning fuel on endless unneeded regenerations.
The hoses fail more than the sensor, and it is the classic trap of this family: they crack with heat, block with soot, and — after any exhaust work — get refitted swapped, which reverses the reading's sign. A circuit code is the honest electrical version; the sinister failures are plausible-but-wrong readings, which is what the Range/Performance variant exists to catch.
