Renault TCe (badge, not an engine)
turboalimentado · gasolina · 2007–present
TCe is a badge, not an engine — Renault's word for a turbocharged petrol, on Renault, Dacia and Mitsubishi in this catalogue, from 0.9 to 2.0 litres and on three cylinders or four.
⚑ Read the letter before the rest of the badge. Renault's naturally aspirated petrols are SCe, one letter away, and at 1.0 litre it sells both: the H4Dt and H5D are turbocharged and badged TCe, while the B4D and H4D of the same size are not turbocharged at all. A boost leak, a wastegate, a diverter valve or a charge-air cooler diagnosis on an SCe is work spent on a part that is not fitted.
Which engine depends on the displacement:
- 0.9 —
H4Bt, the three-cylinder that started the badge in the Clio IV, Sandero II and Micra. - 1.0 —
H4Dt/H5D, the turbocharged three-cylinder of the Clio, Almera and Duster. - 1.2 —
H5Ft, in the Clio IV, Captur and Kangoo. - 1.3 —
H5Ht, which is Mercedes-Benz'sM282— co-developed, and in the A-Class as well as the Scénic, Captur, Mégane and Clio. - 1.6 —
M5M, the Clio RS, Talisman, Mégane IV and Kadjar.
The 1.3 is the one whose literature crosses marques. A part or a fault catalogued under M282 describes the same engine, and searching only one of the two designations finds half of what exists.
Establish the family code, on the engine and in the build sheet. The badge says petrol and turbocharged and nothing more.

- O carro — marca, modelo, ano e motor.
