JAC T8

The one-tonne pickup, sold across Latin America, the Middle East and Africa and working for a living almost everywhere it goes. Its diesel is a common-rail four with Bosch injection equipment, which is the useful fact: Bosch's own component data and test procedures apply to the injectors and the high-pressure pump regardless of what the engine is badged as, and are far more accessible than anything published by the maker. The recurring faults are those of any hard-worked diesel pickup — turbocharger vanes sticking with soot, injector return-flow revealing a leaking nozzle before any code appears, and a fuel-filter water sensor that corrodes and reports permanently.
