Manufacturer
Pontiac
United States · part of General Motors
GM's performance division until 2010, and mechanically a Chevrolet, Oldsmobile or Holden of its year in nearly every case — the Ecotec four, the 3.8 supercharged V6 and the 3.6 High Feature V6 in particular. A large fleet is still running with no dealer network behind it, so its codes get read by owners rather than by a service department. The Vibe is the exception worth knowing: it is a Toyota, which is a rebadge pointing away from the parent company rather than towards it.

What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
