What to do

Ask whether other sensor faults are stored at the same time. Several sensors usually share one power supply, so one fault there sets several codes that all clear with a single repair.

Ask for the connector to be inspected for corrosion and for fuel contamination. This sensor sits in the fuel line where salt and water reach it, and that is the commonest cause.

If you can smell fuel, say so straight away. A weeping seal at this sensor causes this fault and is a fire risk.

The car will often drive normally, but get it looked at rather than leaving it, since the module cannot monitor fuel pressure properly while this is stored.

What this code means

The second fuel pressure sensor's signal is below the lowest voltage the circuit should produce.

A signal below the valid range is an electrical statement, not a pressure one — these sensors are specified so that even zero pressure produces a comfortable margin above zero volts, precisely so the module can tell a broken circuit from an empty fuel line. So this is a wiring fault until proven otherwise.

The three candidates are a short to ground, an open signal wire, and a collapsed reference supply, and they are separated by measuring at the connector with the sensor unplugged.

The shared reference supply is worth checking first here, for the reason this corpus records repeatedly: several sensors typically run from one five-volt rail, and a single short pulls them all down together. A page of unrelated sensor codes with no common component is that pattern, and fixing the supply clears all of them at once.

Location gives this sensor its own characteristic cause. It sits in the fuel line, often under the vehicle or in the engine bay near the filter, where road salt, water and vibration all reach its connector. Corrosion there is ordinary rather than exceptional.

Look for fuel weeping at the sensor seal while the connector is off. It contaminates the connector, causes exactly this, and is a fire risk that deserves reporting rather than noting.
