P0484: Fan Circuit Current High
What to do
Driveable, but do not ignore it — an over-current fan circuit can blow fuses or overheat wiring, and the engine loses its cooling when that happens. Have a look for anything caught in the fan first; it is free and occasionally the whole answer.
What this code means
The fan circuit is drawing more current than it should. A motor whose bearings are failing draws progressively more as it stiffens, which is the most common mechanism and gives useful warning: a fan that has become noisy or slow to spin down is heading here.
The other cause worth checking first costs nothing — something physically obstructing the fan. Debris lodged against a blade, or a shroud that has come adrift and is fouling it, loads the motor exactly as failing bearings would.
