Failed cooling fan relay
The relay switching current to the cooling fan. Cheap, and it fails far more often than the fan motor it is usually blamed with — an engine that overheats in traffic and runs cool at speed is describing a fan that never came on, and the relay is the first thing to swap.
Typically an easy fix. Often worth checking before paying anyone to look.
