What this code means
The fore-and-aft lever position signal drops out or jumps briefly. This is the more serious of the two intermittents, because the axis it affects is the one that chooses direction: a momentary misread can be taken as a range change request, and the module's protections against acting on an implausible one are the only thing between that and an unwanted engagement.
In practice modules refuse rather than obey when the signal is doubtful, so the observed symptom is usually a selector that intermittently ignores the driver rather than one that acts on its own. That is the safe failure, and it should not be mistaken for a harmless one — the same fault getting worse is not something to leave.
