Ask to see the recorded shift times; if they have been getting longer, that is the transmission wearing.
What this code means
A gear change took longer to complete than the module expected. This is the more informative of the pair, because a shift that drags is a clutch taking too long to fill and grip — and the reasons for that are the reasons transmissions fail.
Low pressure fills a clutch slowly. Worn friction material takes longer to grip once filled. A leaking seal or a worn valve bore loses some of the fluid meant to do the filling. Each of those lengthens shift time measurably, and each is a stage on the way to a transmission that slips.
That makes this code an early warning rather than a complaint, and shift times a genuine health measurement: they lengthen gradually and long before anything is felt from the driver's seat. A transmission whose shift times have been climbing has been telling anyone who looked, for some time.
