What to do
Recurring generator overheat has two honest explanations: the fluid that cools it, or a battery demanding constant charge. Ask for both to be checked — a fluid service and a battery health report together cost a fraction of the parts this code gets blamed on.
What this code means
The generator genuinely overheated.
The thermal argument is P0A2F's — the transmission fluid is this machine's coolant, so fluid level and condition are the first check — but the workload story differs. The generator earns its heat charging: a battery held low by short trips, heavy electrical load or age makes the generator work continuously, and sustained charging is this machine's equivalent of the drive motor's long climb. An ageing traction battery therefore shows up here indirectly, as a generator that overheats doing the extra work the battery now demands.
Once is workload; a pattern is either the cooling path or the reason the charging never stops. Both halves are worth naming to a workshop.
