A charger is a heat engine in the unhelpful sense: a 7 kW unit at 95% efficiency still throws off several hundred watts inside a sealed box under the car, with no airflow of its own. So it is liquid-cooled, usually sharing a low-temperature circuit with the inverter and the DC/DC converter — which is why a cooling fault here often arrives alongside inverter and converter temperature codes, and why they should be read as one problem rather than three.
The causes are the ordinary ones for any cooling circuit and mostly cheap: coolant level, air trapped after a previous repair, a pump that has stopped, a valve that has stuck.
