What this code means
The circuit that drives the charging coupler's unlock actuator is faulty.
The charging coupler locks into the car, and it is a safety interlock rather than an anti-theft feature — though it serves as both.
The reason it exists is that the contacts are live. A charging cable at full current is carrying more power than a domestic cooker ring, and pulling a live connector apart draws an arc across the separating contacts that pits the metal and can start a fire. So the sequence is fixed: the car stops the current first, and only then releases the lock. The lock is what makes that sequence enforceable rather than a request.
It also stops the cable being taken — either stolen, or unplugged by a stranger who wants the charge point — which is why most cars keep it locked for the whole session and release it with the doors.
An unlock failure is the one owners actually meet, and it traps the charging cable in the car. The answer is the manual release — a cable, lever or catch that nearly every vehicle provides, usually reached from inside the boot or under the rear seat, and described in the handbook. It is worth finding before it is needed, because the moment it is needed the car is attached to a charge point somebody else is waiting for. P0CD1 makes the same point about the charge port door.
