What to do
Same deadline as P2047 — the vehicle will restrict itself progressively while it cannot dose. Quote both the bank and unit numbers when arranging the repair; larger engines carry several of these injectors and they are not interchangeable in position.
What this code means
A circuit fault in the reductant injector serving bank 2. The inducement consequences set out under P2047 apply in full and are not repeated.
What the bank and unit numbering adds is worth explaining, because it is the only way to find the right part. Bank identifies which cylinder bank's exhaust the injector serves — a V engine may have two entirely separate aftertreatment paths. Unit distinguishes multiple dosing points in the same path, fitted on larger engines where one injector cannot deliver enough reductant or where two-stage dosing is used. So bank 2 unit 1 is the first injector on the second exhaust path, and a workshop needs both numbers to locate it.
