What to do
Symptoms range from nothing to a rough idle. Ask for the vacuum hoses to be checked as well as the wiring — perished hose is common and does not show up in an electrical test.
What this code means
The EGR vent control circuit reads above its valid range — an open circuit or a short to supply. With the vent unable to operate, the valve's behaviour depends on where the vacuum happens to sit, so the symptom varies from nothing at all to a persistently rough idle.
Vacuum hoses deserve inspection alongside the electrical circuit here. These lines are thin rubber in an engine bay, they perish, and a hose that has hardened and split produces a valve that will not close for reasons no amount of electrical testing will find.
