EGR Vacuum Solenoid
An electrically switched valve that applies engine vacuum to a vacuum-operated EGR valve, letting the module control a pneumatic device with an electrical output. Worth separating from the EGR valve itself when diagnosing: applying vacuum directly to the valve should visibly disturb the engine at idle, and if it does, the valve and its passages are sound and the fault is in this solenoid or its hoses.
