Engine stumbles when changing between petrol and gas
The engine hesitates, jerks or nearly cuts out at the moment of changeover, and is fine on either fuel once settled. The changeover is a genuinely difficult handover — one set of injectors has to stop and another start within a revolution or two, on a fuel with completely different energy density — so a small stumble is normal on many installations and a large one is not. Worth noting which direction it happens in: stumbling onto gas points at the gas side's delivery, while stumbling back onto petrol more often means the petrol injectors have been idle so long that they need a moment.

What this usually means
The changeover is a genuinely difficult handover and a small stumble is normal on many installations. One set of injectors has to stop and another start within a revolution or two, on a fuel with different energy density and a different stoichiometric ratio — so the question is not whether there is a transition but whether it is larger than the installation was ever calibrated to produce.
Which direction it happens in is the most useful thing to record. Stumbling onto gas points at the gas side — a vaporiser slow to deliver, a pressure that has not stabilised, a filter restricting flow, or a changeover map that switches injectors too abruptly. Stumbling back onto petrol more often means the petrol injectors have been idle so long that they need a moment to deliver properly, which is a known consequence of running mostly on gas and is why many systems periodically run a short petrol cycle deliberately.
Gas pressure at the moment of changeover is the measurement that settles it. A pressure that dips as the gas injectors open for the first time means the vaporiser cannot answer the sudden demand — a filter, a membrane, or a vaporiser undersized or under-heated for the engine.
And the changeover strategy itself is adjustable on most aftermarket systems. The engine speed at which it switches, whether it changes cylinder by cylinder or all at once, and the delay between them are configuration rather than hardware.
