Cause
Fluid tracking into the transmission connector
Transmission fluid wicking along the wires themselves, from inside the gearbox out to the module's connector. A connector full of fluid is a symptom rather than the fault — an internal seal or the sensor it came from is what leaked — and cleaning it out without addressing that sends the same fault back within weeks.
