P0564: Cruise Control Multi-Function Input A Circuit
What to do
Driveable; cruise control will not work. Mention any recent water ingress, a leaking windscreen seal, or a drink spilt near the steering column.
What this code means
A circuit fault on the cruise control switch assembly. Most designs put several functions on one wire, each button applying a different resistance so the module can tell them apart by voltage — which is efficient, and means a single failure disables every cruise function at once rather than just one.
That shared arrangement is also why water ingress into the stalk or steering wheel switch pack is such a common cause: it changes the resistance of the whole ladder, and the module reads a value that corresponds to no button at all.
